HCSO: Body found in suitcase by couple walking their dog in North Harris County
Homicide detectives said the body appeared to have been intentionally dumped in the area.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A couple walking their dog made a grisly discovery Sunday evening in north Harris County.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the couple were walking in a secluded section of Imperial Valley Drive when they stopped an officer after discovering a body inside a suitcase.
Homicide detectives said the decomposing body appeared to have been “intentionally dumped” and that they could not determine whether it was a man or a woman.
“Due to the advanced state of decomposition of the body, we’re not even sure right now whether it’s male or female,” said the HCSO Sgt. Brown said. “I can’t really give a description of age or anything like that.”
Detectives said their investigation will continue after the coroner’s office performs an autopsy on the body.
