HPD: 16-year-old shot and killed while sitting in parked car in SE Houston
The teenager was shot in the head as he sat in a parked car with his mother, according to police.
HOUSTON – A 16-year-old has died after being shot in the head in front of his mother, according to Houston police.
The shooting occurred around 9:30 pm in an apartment complex on Selinsky Road in southeast Houston.
Police said the teenager was sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car with his mother when a car drove past them and fired multiple shots at the teenager. One of the bullets hit the teenager in the head. He was taken to the hospital where he later passed away.
“They fired five to six shots and then fled the scene,” said HPD lieutenant Ignacio Izaguirre.
Police said they were looking at surveillance footage and trying to find other witnesses to the shooting. Police did not say whether her mother was injured in the shooting.
