The body of a Navasota teenager has been found days after he disappeared while swimming near Surfside Beach
SURFSIDE BEACH, Texas — The body of a 19-year-old man who disappeared while swimming near Surfside Beach was found Monday afternoon.

On Sunday, the US Coast Guard suspended its search for Jackson. The decision came after the Coast Guard said it searched about 305 square miles in a total of 25 hours.
“The decision to suspend the search is never easy, but we remain ready to resume the operation should any new information emerge,” said Lieutenant General Staff Officer Melissa Brizzi, command duty officer, Sector Houston-Galveston. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and we hope they find comfort and strength during this difficult time.”
THE United States Coast Guard contributed boat crews and a helicopter to the search with the Surfside Police Department.
